The best place to start with your Personal History Capsule is with YOU!  No one knows or has access to your life story better than you do. Your life story and the supporting documents are the only story that you can share with any degree of certainty. Remember, this is your unique opportunity to speak to, share with, and pass-along your life-story to future generations of your family.

At this moment all the events, stories, memories, pictures, photographs, and personal documents of your life are either in your head or stored away in a box somewhere. Your goal is to get this information out of your head, out of the storage box, and into your Personal History Capsule. You are going to recreate your life story in words, pictures, photographs and personal documents.

Showing and telling future generations what your life was like should be your focus and goal. We have included sample questions to help guide you in writing your personal history. Remember, regardless of what you decide to preserve and share, it can only have meaning for your loved ones when it is shared.
